Gastronomy and Tourism

My career as a professional translator and interpreter began in the field of tourism. I could not have asked for anything better, given my passion for travelling, for languages and for learning about cultures different from my own.

I worked for 10 years as an in-house translator and proofreader at the Madrid headquarters of the Transhotel group, a multinational tourism supplier, which served not only travel agencies but also the latter’s end clients. Therefore my translation experience ranges from the extremely specialised language of B2B texts to the more informative, communicative, promotional language used in B2C communications.

Over the past 20 years I have taken care of websites, brochures, presentations, press statements, on- and off-line catalogues, of accommodation facilities and tourist services, online tourist guides, articles about and recipes featuring local gastronomy, tourist information portals and blogs by luxury hotels.

My experience of many years as a sales agent for major airlines enables me to handle even the specialised language of air transport carefully and accurately.
