Increasingly frequently, artificial intelligence is being used to translate texts of every type, but even the best software produces results that are far from as good as the translation that a human translator or interpreter can produce. Not only when it’s a question of transcreation or localisation but often also in terms of straightforward translation, which is why it is always necessary to fill the gap with the intervention of a human translator on a translation that has been done by software.

My MTPE work consists of revising and correcting words translated by software in order to produce a final result as good as that of a human translator. This approach is very useful for reducing the amount of translation time, although much depends on the quality of the software used. The higher the quality of the software, the less time the post-editing by a human translator will take.
