In consecutive interpreting, the translation of the words from English to Italian and vice versa and from Spanish to Italian and vice versa, comes immediately after the speaker has spoken. So you will see me listerning attentively, taking notes and reproducing what has been said in the target language in front of audiences of varying size, at the most every 10/15 minutes, depending on the context and the speaker’s requirements.

This method does not involve the use of particular equipment, as required in simultaneous interpreting, but it doubles the time needed speaking, which is why it is suitable for small groups, like those at press conferences, official discussions between private individuals or training courses, if the teacher does not speak the language of the class.
