I find myself increasingly often translating the content of videogames and all the related support communication material: instructions, commands, dialogue, interactive dialogue and also presentations and advertising material, which are dense in double meanings and in a decidedly informal tone.
The videogames field is as fascinating as it is challenging, mainly because of the character limit constraints, which when translating from the concise English language to the more wordy Italian are particularly tricky. It’s a challenge that teaches one a great deal about the possibilities of manipulating languages and makes the results even more satisfying.
